Harris Point Chicago came to us with a proposition to rethink the underutilized lower level of one of their multifamily apartment buildings serving graduate students at UIC. With resident input in mind, we removed excess storage space to make room for a gym. Our design separates the laundry and utility room to create an enclosed gym with a rich and warm material palette providing a valuable amenity to residents. We also proposed updates to other shared spaces throughout the building including entrances and stairways to provide a more welcoming and memorable experience. This project will serve as a test pilot and prototype for their other properties.
